PresentIt: Instructions
Instructions for common uses of PresentIt:

1. Use phone/tablet for remote control (with laptop connected to projector)
- Laptop and remote control device (phone or tablet) must be connected to the same WiFi network.
- Run PresentIt and start server (press 'Start' button).
- Connect laptop to projector using a VGA, DVI, or HDMI connector.
- Open web browser on laptop and enter URL as shown by PresentIt on one of the 'Invite' menus.
The 'QR Code' menu is generally the easiest to use.
This should look like http://xx.xx.xx.xx:nnnn where xx.xx.xx.xx
is the IP address and nnnn is the port number.
Laptop is now awaiting the start of presentation.
- Press 'Present' button on PresentIt to create a new presentation or start an existing one.
If creating a new presentation, press 'New' and select the presentation file (Note 1).
The file will be converted into HTML.
- Press the file name and then press 'View'.
The first page will be displayed on both the remote control device and on the laptop connected to the projector.
- Use the cursor icons on the remote control device screen to more forward and backward through the presentation pages.
2. Use phone/tablet for remote control (with phone/tablet connected to projector)
- Phone (or tablet) that will be connected to the projector, and the remote control device (phone or tablet) must be connected to the same WiFi network.
- Run PresentIt and start server (press 'Start' button).
- Connect phone (or tablet) to projector, generally using an HDMI connector or adaptor.
- Open web browser on phone (or tablet) connected to projector and enter URL as shown by PresentIt on one of the 'Invite' menus.
The 'QR Code' menu is generally the easiest to use.

is the IP address and nnnn is the port number.

Enter URL as shown by PresentIt on the 'Present' menu.
This should look like http://xx.xx.xx.xx:nnnn/p.html where xx.xx.xx.xx
is the IP address and nnnn is the port number.
- Press 'New' and select the presentation file (Note 1).
The file will be converted into HTML and both the original and HTML formats will be stored.
- Open web browser on the device to where the file should be transferred ("destination").
Enter same URL as above.
- Press presentation file name button and press 'Save'.
- Press 'Original Format' to save original presentation file or 'HTML' to save HTML version.
*: Transferring files may not be supported by all browsers.
Presentations can be previewed in a web browser even if the device cannot
display the original presentation file format.
- Run PresentIt and start server (press 'Start' button).
- Press 'Present'.
- Press 'New' and select the presentation file (Note 1).
- Press the button with the name of the presentation file and press 'View'.
- The presentation will be displayed in a web browser.
Use the icons to move forward and backward through the pages.
Note 1:
Conversion of Office format files (.doc, .docx, .ppt, .pptx, .xls, .xlsx) requires
a connection to the internet. Conversion of PDF files (.pdf) requires a connection to the internet by default,
but can be done over WiFi by setting 'Cloud Convert' to 'off' in the 'Settings' menu
of the app.
